Following its expansion into circuit protection solutions last year, Hamilton Litestat has added two further products to its range. Hamilton revealed its sleek and stylish metal consumer units in 2016 and followed this with a metal fused switch that is engineered to the same high quality. Now it has launched Flush Mounting Kits and Cable-Tidy Trunking Kits that are making fitting even easier and resulting in sleek, attractive installations that you won’t want to hide.
New installation solutions
The new Flush Mounting Kit allows for a consumer unit to be installed within the wall cavity of a property while leaving the front of the unit flush with the wall. Hamilton originally developed its consumer units due to industry demand for a more attractive solution and the Flush Mounting Kit gives added installation flexibility and helps further improve the aesthetic of this wiring essential.
Hamilton has also developed a new Cable Tidy Trunking Kit. Long gone are the days of unattractive consumer units and ugly wiring with this solution. The kit allows you to conceal all cables and intumescent gland adaptors within a fascia panel fixed horizontally at either the top or bottom of the unit. This provides such a neat, attractive finish that the consumer unit can come out from under the stairs and be fitted on a wall in any room of the house.
The circuit protection range has been particularly popular with local authorities. These new products come to market as Hamilton announces two new contract wins with its circuit protection range. Valley to Coast (V2C) Housing Association, Bridgend has specified Hamilton’s Contour Consumer Units with RCBO Circuit Protection for installation in properties across the region. The product has been chosen due to the aesthetically pleasing shape of the board and its unique fireproof gland protection adaptors.
Additionally, Stroud District Council in Gloucestershire has specified the Hamilton 10-way Hi-Integrity Board as stock upgrades due to its aesthetics, fireproof gland protection adaptors and because of the spacious interior that the board offers, which is an advantage over other competitors’ products on the market. It is helping Stroud District Council and other electricians save time during the installation process, therefore contributing towards cost savings.
Gavin Williams, Hamilton’s Marketing Manager, says: “Circuit protection products are a necessity purchase, with renovations essential following the introduction of BS 7671:2008 Amendment 3. Hamilton’s solutions have proven popular as they address a number of industry demands that weren’t being met by competitors.” He continues: “Our Contour Consumer Units have an attractive, curved design that deviates from the ‘ugly’ industry standard and ease of installation has been improved. As a top priority for Hamilton, the consumer units were designed with a large accessible wiring space and removeable gland plates on the top and bottom that are retained by two screws. Two knockouts at the rear further assist with this, with cable entries positioned for quick and simple access to devices. This all helps in saving time and resource, ultimately reducing costs. Unique fireproof gland protection adaptors and a fail-safe drop-down lid optimise safety, giving peace-of-mind and are compliant with legislation.”
The popularity of Hamilton’s products is also evident in its recent work with Sandwell Council. Hamilton has helped support the upgrading of circuit protection equipment to BS 7671:2008 Amendment 3 standards in 29,000 council homes across the Black Country as part of a £500m upgrade project.
