LED lighting specialist Collingwood Lighting has joined an elite group of UK businesses with the fastest-growing international trade after making it onto the Sunday Times HSBC International Track 200 league table. The annual table ranks Britain’s top 200 mid-market private companies with the fastest growing international sales. With a 61% growth in international sales over a two-year period, Collingwood Lighting went straight in at number 48.
A leading designer, manufacturer and provider of LED lighting products and solutions, Collingwood exports its LED lighting to 15 countries across the world.
The company’s Chief Executive Officer, Stephen Grao, who has himself spent most of his career in CEO roles living in Asia, the Americas and across Europe, said: “The whole organisation at Collingwood is delighted at the recognition from the Sunday Times and very proud that their efforts and commitment have resulted in more than 60% growth internationally.”
“This impressive international growth – like in the UK – has been achieved through a winning formula of developing and marketing the most innovative LED lighting products (notably downlights and landscape lighting), delivering excellent customer service and working very closely with our electrical distribution partners.”
“The acceleration in R&D and new product development at Collingwood – the introduction of the best-in-class H2 Pro 700 downlight this month being just one example – should ensure that high levels of sales growth continue for the foreseeable future in the UK and across the globe.”
Collingwood Lighting’s entry onto the Sunday Times HSBC International Track 200 means it joins an elite group of companies including well-known names such as Sweaty Betty, Pret A Manger and Caffé Nero.
Together, companies ranked in the seventh annual Sunday Times HSBC International Track 200 league table grew their international sales by an average of 39% a year over the last two years to a total of £7.1bn.
The table is sponsored by HSBC and compiled by Fast Track, the Oxford-based research and networking events firm.
Amanda Murphy, UK head of corporate banking at HSBC, said: “The Sunday Times HSBC International Track 200 is a great reflection of the value of building connections overseas. The world is getting smaller and for ambitious businesses, the opportunities to source goods and services and to grow organically via international trade, digitally or on the ground, are easier than ever.
“I’m delighted to see so many HSBC-backed mid-sized firms making such a strong impression on the world stage.”
